Playoffs Are So Good
Written by paul on October 14th, 2008 | 0 CommentsI was at a friends house for dinner on Sunday as we watched the Cowboys give away a victory and I kept seeing the ads for game 3 of the NLCS and I got more excited for that than the Cowboy game. Baseball is my first and true love when it comes to sports as I have probably said before. The fact that I can get jazzed for a NLCS game in which I could care less about who wins more than the local football team illustrates this. I don’t know if it is the playoff atmosphere or the flow of the game or the one on one battles between hitter and pitcher but to me it is the great game. Continue reading...
Excitement and Anxiety
Written by paul on August 25th, 2008 | 0 CommentsAs the feelings of dismay from the lack of any kind of movement buy the Rangers at the trading deadline and the fact that they went 2-7 on the last home stand I haven’t had much feelings of any kind towards them. The Texas Rangers have officially become the Texas Rangers again. No pitching to be found, players are becoming disabled faster than in Iraq, and the bats are silent. I know that this is my home team and that is the team I follow closest, for the others how about the Yankees treading water, the Phillies hanging on, the Brewers, the Cards, the Astros (maybe), the D-backs and Dodgers. Getting Fired Up
Written by paul on July 9th, 2008 | 0 CommentsTonight is the first night in 2+ months that I am heading to the Ballpark in Arlington. I previously posted that I would not spend a dime on tickets in support of the Texas Rangers until they found some direction. Well, I think they have. They have been playing good baseball recently and have actually broken through the .500 mark that had been dogging them for the last month or so. They would get to it, go 1 game up and then loose it and go back down 1 or 2 games below. As of now they are 47-44 adn beat the division leading Angels last night. They have called up another pitcher from AA for a spot start against Jared Weaver so it should be fun. Continue reading...
