Sure, this is a baseball blog. But does that mean that we can’t have some other stuff here as well?  Hell, no!

• This Favre thing is out of control (I know, breaking news, right?).  When you are watching ESPN and the crawl at the bottom of the screen has a whole category for Favre news, you know it has gotten out of hand.
• I hate to sound like a whiner, but the way that ESPN panders to the Red Sox and Yankees is just sick.  You just watch how little you hear about Manny Ramirez now that he isn’t in Boston.  Just you wait.
• The Cubs had 49 hits in the last 4 games.  The Brewers had 30.
• Did you see Prince Fielder get ejected yesterday?  He was upset at a strike call, then he popped out to center, smashed his bat on the plate, and proceeded to yell “Horse shit!” to the home plate umpire approximately 6,327 times.  Ned Yost just looked on in that oddly confused way he always seems to.
• Yao Ming commenting on Ron Artest’s character just seems so weird on so many levels.
• Ken Griffey Jr. is a White Sock.  I always wondered how one would say that.  Is he a White Sock or a White Sox?  Or should I just say that he is now a White Sox player?
• Ozzie Guillen: Love him or hate him?
• I know the rest of the country hates him, but if Mark Cuban ends up buying the Cubs, they are in for a real treat. Very few owners “get it” like he does.  He has done wonders for the Dallas Mavericks, and has real passion for what he does.  Plus, he is hella smart and will probably make the game of baseball a TON of money.  He will do for baseball what Jerry Jones did for football (make them even richer).
• The video of Terrell Owens burning Pac Man Jones is a thing of beauty.  Not the video itself, but the double move TO put on Pac. DAMN!

• Ian Kinsler might be my new favorite player.  Earlier in the season, it was Josh Hamilton.
• How could anyone turn down 20 million over 10 years to sit on their butt?
• Does it seem to anyone else that Roger Goodell is kind of wussing out on this whole Favre decision?
• I am anxious to see if Mark Teixeira will bring down the Angels’ clubhouse like he supposedly did the Rangers’ clubhouse
• Unconfirmed: Peter Gammons picked a Braves-Indians World Series this year. Yikes.
